The Redfern club will close its doors on March 31 for a $3
million refit, the club wants finished for its 100th anniversary next March,
News Ltd newspapers report.
All 22 staff, seven of whom were fulltime, have been handed
their notices.
Club chairman Bill Alexiou-Hucker said safety issues mean it
was not feasible to attempt to stay open while the entire building underwent a
refit.
Once completed, the building will house offices, a Rabbitohs
hall of fame and the licensed club.
