Letter from Clover Moore Distributed to residents about Abercrombie Street

The City of Sydney plans to transform Abercrombie Street,
Darlington, into a safe and inviting public area.

We want to promote outdoor dining, strengthen the Darlington
village atmosphere, and make it safer for people to walk to Redfern Station and
Sydney University by:

 Making
the street more pedestrian-friendly with a wider footpath on the southern
side

  • Greening
the area with more trees and garden beds

  • Installing
    new lighting

  • Reducing
    the clutter of overhead cables.

We are not proposing changes to
existing traffic arrangements.

Come and join me at 5pm to discuss the proposals at our information session on Wednesday 26 October 2011 at Café Tripod, 262 Abercrombie Street.

The drop-in session will be open from 4pm – 7pm.
We will provide coffee, tea, juice and light snacks.

Café
Tripod is wheelchair accessible. If you need a hearing loop or a translator,
you can contact Rob Mueck, Project Officer, on 9265 9333 or at
rmueck@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.

If you have any questions about
the information session or our proposal, you can also contact Rob.

The concept
design will be on public exhibition from Monday 24 October until Monday 31
October 2011. You can also view and comment on it online at www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.

Yours sincerely

Clover Moore MP

Lord Mayor of Sydney
