Ninety per cent of young people in juvenile justice centres have at least one psychological disorder and 40 per cent have been in out-of-home care.
On average they left school under the age of 15.
Perhaps most concerning of all is that about half the young people in juvenile justice custody are Aboriginal, despite only making up about four per cent of the population.
Changes to the State’s juvenile justice system will require political will and community support. Your contribution matters.
