ing in Waterloo South. All\nthree of the CHPs are already housing tenants f
rom Waterloo South relocations\,\neven though City West is not managing any
Homes NSW owned social housing. You\ncan find out more about the CHPs and
their policies prior to the meeting on the\nwebsites for Link-Wentworth\, B
irribee Housing and City West Housing.\nREDWatch has\nprovided the CHPs wit
h some tenant questions (see later in this email) and in\nour last email we
also provided some broader questions about issues CHPs need\nto address ov
er coming months (also repeated later in this email). There will\nbe an opp
ortunity to raise questions at the meeting.\nSo come along\nand hear from t
 he CHPs on Thursday 6th August 2026 from 6:00 –\n7:30pm at Counterpointâ€
™s Factory Community Centre 67 Raglan Street Waterloo or\njoin us online on
  Zoom http://tinyurl.com/RedwatchMeetingZoom.&nbsp\;\nYou can promote this
meeting electronically by sharing our Facebook\npost or flyer\nor asking Na
vin for a poster at The Factory.\nWhat is Social Housing?\nThis REDWatch\nC
HP meeting will focus on social housing. Given the confusion about the term
s like\npublic and social housing\, the Waterloo Redevelopment Group in 202
4 requested\nthe Community Housing Industry Association (CHIA) to prepare a
Social\nHousing Factsheet which is on the REDWatch website. This may be he
lpful in\nexplaining some of the key differences between Public\, Aborigina
l and Community\nhousing models leading into the coming REDWatch meeting. T
 his sheet compares\nownership\, management\, dwellings under management\, e
ligibility for Commonwealth\nRent Assistance\, regulation and complaints ac
ross the three different types of\nsocial housing.\nWe will leave\nthe comp
lexities of affordable housing for another meeting but for some\ninformatio
n on the differences between social and affordable see AHURI’s Brief What
\nis the difference between social housing and affordable housing - and why
  do\nthey matter?
