I write to invite your organisation to nominate one representative to
attend a forum organised by the Redfern-Waterloo Authority (RWA) to be held
over two days from 24 to 25 July 2006 at the Australian Technology
Park, Redfern. This event
will be fully catered and the venue has disabled access.
The aim of the forum is to engage members of the community,
service providers and public policy experts in the development of phase two of
the Redfern-Waterloo Human Services Plan.
As you may be aware, phase one of the Human Services Plan is
in the process of being implemented. The document is publicly available. The
Plan is about improving the delivery of services to children and families,
Aboriginal people and young people. Phase one also includes actions to improve
the delivery of health services in the Redfern-Waterloo area.
Phase two of the Human Services Plan will focus on improving
services delivered to homeless people, people with disabilities, older people
and migrant communities living in the area.
The forum aims to provide an opportunity for participants to
discuss, analyse and formulate suggestions on achievable actions that improve
the delivery of service to these groups.
Unfortunately, due to space and logistical limitations
attendance is by invitation only. No proxies or alternates can be accepted.
The RWA Human Services Team will closely monitor acceptances
to ensure that there is broad participation across all of the relevant sectors.
Participants will be provided with details of the forum
along with an information kit well in advance of the event. The information kit
will contain the following:

papers; - Forum
operation guidelines; - Venue
map; - Workshop
nomination forum; - Expression
of Interest form for participants wishing to speak in the plenary
sessions; and - Form
to nominate special dietary requirements.
Pre-forum submissions
Written submissions from organisations and members of the
community not attending the forum are welcome. Pre-forum submissions will be
made available to all forum participants as a resource to inform discussion.
Information kits to assist in the development of submissions
will be made available to those wishing to make a pre-forum submission. Please
