Twenty writers were chosen from nearly 500 entrants, and
will now work closely with the mentor of their choice to develop their
manuscript to the highest professional standard. Selected participants will
also have the opportunity to read their work, appear “in conversation with”, or
participate in panels at state and regional writers’ festivals, bringing their
work to the attention of publishers, literary agents and future readers.
Speaking on behalf the judges, Dr Fisher, Executive Director
of the ASA said: “If these applications are an indication of the future of
Australian literature, then we need have no fear of its demise. Literary
creativity in Australia
is alive and kicking.”
Elena Knox works across text, sound, film and performance.
Her writing is published in Australia,
