The RWA and SMDA welcome all community involvement in the
planning for the future of the Redfern Waterloo area. We believe this is very important to help
build the best possible consensus towards lasting positive improvements for the
area.
To this end we believe that the groundswell proposal will
assist this process accordingly. Whilst
I note that the proposed membership is aimed at non-government organisations at
this time, I would like to register the RWA’s and SMDA’s interest in being
actively engaged with this group. As was
evident in the excellent presentations provided by Jim Dier, successful
community planning can only really be achieved through effective engagement
between government and non-government organizations and community members
alike. We are committed to this outcome.
As you are aware, with BEP 2 we are preparing for our
further rounds of consultation and I am aware that representatives if the RWA
and SMDA will meeting with you … shortly to discuss this. This will be an excellent opportunity to explore
how we can make the next round of consultation all the more effective. We will also be consulting with other
community organisations on this as well.
Again thank you for passing this information on to us. It
is greatly appreciated and we look forward to continuing to work with you and
Groundswell in the future.
Kind Regards,
Roy Wakelin-King
