REDWatch “Population Dynamics” Workshop – 6pm 4 Sep

We will have input from:

·        
Dr Kim Johnstone a Senior Demographer from the
Department of Planning and Environment (DP&E). DP&E have recently
produced new projections for Sydney and Dr Johnstone has produced the attached
article for Inner Sydney Regional Council for Social Development on what those
projections mean for the Inner City Region.

·        
Tye McMahon, Manager Social Programs and
Services at City of Sydney will talk about what these changes mean for the
future of service delivery in the City. The city recently presented to a Police
community meeting on growth issues and you can see that presentation on the
REDWatch website at Current and

·        
Associate Professor Mike Darcy from UWS will
also join us, Mike is a prominent researcher on social housing policy and
management, and the connections between social disadvantage and place.

·        
We have also asked for input from Urban
Taskforce and the Local Area Health Service but these are not yet confirmed.

 

This should be an interesting
workshop discussing issues of demographics, population growth and its
implications. Anyone is welcome to join us for the presentations, Q&As and
discussion on Thursday 4th September 2014 6pm till 8pm at Factory
Community Centre 67 Raglan Street Waterloo
