The Indigenous Land Corporation is holding an ‘Open House’ to provide information to the local community and other interested stakeholders.
Council has rearranged its Redfern Community Forum to the night that REDWatch normally meets, so the REDWatch meeting will be bought forward to Tuesday 1st July at The Factory. The July meeting will follow up on the North Eveleigh Concept Plan by looking at the University’s plans for the area.
As with previous Community Forums there will be a time from 6pm until 6.45 to raise your own issues with Council officers and councillors. This will be followed by updates on Local Action Plan, Redfern Street public art project, Redfern Park and Oval, public domain and landscaping works, the City Plan, Sustainable Sydney 2030 and local development applications.
The City of Sydney is organising a Community Consultation on the future of the North Eveleigh Precinct. The Council will address concerns raised in its submission on the RWA's concept plan for the site including planning and traffic concerns. There will be also a presentation by Sydney University of their interest in the site as detailed in their current 2020 Masterplan.
The RWA has issued invitations to an Information Event on the Redfern Waterloo Human Services Plan Phase Two and presentation of the evaluation findings on the progress of the Redfern Waterloo Human Services Plan Phase One.
Council endorsed the permanent closure of Balfour Street, between O'Connor and Wellington Streets, in February, removing through-traffic and providing much-needed open space in Chippendale. The park will integrate with open space in the CUB site redevelopment, ensuring it shares the character of the area and links with key features, such as bicycle networks.
