Social Impact Assessment - GHD
The SMDA have appointed GHD as consultants to undertake the Social Impact Assessment. The Social Impact Assessment will be building upon previous review work on community facilities, and appropriate scoping for social impact assessment.

This is the May 2012 Report from GHD Pty Ltd on the Social Impact Scoping and Assessment Consultation Outcomes undertaken for the Sydney Metropolitian Development Authority (SMDA). This report was released in October 2014 by UrbanGrowth and is to be updated as part of the UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh “Social Sustainability Due Diligence Study” currently also being undertaken by GHD.
This is the Community Infrastructure and Social Issues Review - September 2015 report from UrbanGrowth NSW's Central to Eveleigh Urban Transformation and Transport Program. GHD have also been appointed to undertake the Social Sustainability report for the Waterloo SSP. This report is broader than Waterloo but it provides an indication of the issues that will be covered in the Social Sustainability;ity report.
This presentation explores what a Social Impact Assessment is and then explores the difficulties faced in doing a Social Impact Assessment over a long term project like that proposed in Redfern Waterloo. The presentation concludes with some suggestions of what this might mean for REDWatch and the Redfern Waterloo Social Impact Assessment.
