Housing NSW are holding information sessions so their tenants can find out more about the Redfern Waterloo Authority Built Environment Plan that is on exhibition until 28 February 2011. Full session details are below.
The RWA placed its Draft Plan for Built Environment Phase 2 (BEP2) on public exhibition on 27th January 2011. The Draft BEP2 proposes new planning controls for public housing estates in Redfern Waterloo and Eveleigh and is on exhibition until 28th February 2011. As part of the exhibition the RWA has arranged seven information days at Redfern Town Hall. This is one of them.
REDWatch will have a table today at the RedWater Markets in Redfern Park to talk with people about the Governments Plans for the Redevelopment of the public housing estates in Redfern and Waterloo and the introduction of private housing on to the Estates.

Come along to The Factory Community Centre 67 Raglan Street, Waterloo at 6pm for REDWatch’s election forum on Housing.
The Redfern Waterloo Community Drug Action Team wants to find out what community members think about alcohol issues in the area. A panel of alcohol experts and local service providers will be on hand to respond to your concerns and questions. This will include workers from Drug and Alcohol services, Redfern Police, City of Sydney, Redfern AMS and local community members.
On the 1st July 2010, the new Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) replaced the Freedom of Information Act 1989 (NSW), bringing about the biggest change to rights to government information in New South Wales in 20 years. These reforms will ensure our government is more transparent and accountable. Under the new law, state and local government agencies will proactively release more information than ever before to the public.
The City of Sydney and local Police are hosting a series of Good Neighbourhood BBQs in your area. Come along and meet your neighbours and learn about what we are doing to improve your neighbourhood. The get togethers will feature Kidzzoo mobile animal farm, live music, children’s activities, a free BBQ and information on safety and security initiatives in your area.

There are concerns that Department of Planning instructed City of Sydney to increase heights in their City plan for Ashmore Precinct. This public meeting will be attended by the Lord Mayor to discuss the controls proposed. The controls go off exhibition on 4 April.
