The local Federal MP Tanya Plibersek, Minister for Social Services and Social Inclusion will attend the REDWatch Monthly Meeting to talk about her roles in the Government and their relation to the local area. All Groundswell supporters are welcome.
Residents are invited to a workshop to discuss what they know about neighbourhood life in Redfern & Waterloo. The workshop will also offer tips and suggestions on how residents can record their stories, knowledge and experiences of living in Redfern & Waterloo.

The City of Sydney is working with the Redfern Community Centre to establish a community garden in Hugo Reserve, Redfern. The proposed garden would be open to the public, and provide a valuable educational resource for the community, a place to grow herbs and vegetables, and socialise and relax.
A Forum on Ethics will be held as a memorial event in memory of Trevor Davies on 30 August at Redfern Town Hall. Speakers will include Tanya Plibersek, MP, Kristina Keneally MP, and Jenny McAllister, ALP National President. The event is hosted by the Redfern, Darlington, Erskineville, and Alexandria Branches of the ALP.
Housing NSW has just held a “Planning Expo” to publicly launch their Preliminary Master Plan for the redevelopment of the public housing estates in Redfern and Waterloo. Come along and find out about how this Master Plan will affect public and private residents. The City of Sydney plans to transform Abercrombie Street, Darlington. They are looking for feedback on those plans. The plans will go up on the Council website on Monday 24 2011 morning. It is not clear if the plans include the Local Action Plan Improvements promised in 2006 or what council proposes to do about the traffic proposals which are excluded from the current proposal. You can come to Tripod on Wednesday 26 October between 4-7pm and see the plans. You can also talk to the Lord Mayor about your concerns at around 5pm.
Come along and meet your neighbours and learn about what the City of Sydney and local police are doing to improve your neighbourhood.

It would be really helpful if as many community members as possible could turn up as a show of support, eat a sausage on a roll/some scones/coconut ice, buy some raffle tickets and most importantly, sign our petition to reverse the pre-school funding situation that the School and Community Association intends to present to the Minister for Education, Adrian Piccoli.
