This month REDWatch has its AGM on Thursday November 3 at 6pm at the Factory Community Centre.Following the AGM at 6.30 Mary Lynne Pidcock from the South Sydney Chamber of Commerce and Millie Ingram for the Redfern Aboriginal Alliance will talk to us about what their organisations are doing in Redfern and Waterloo and you are welcome to join us for these presentations about what is happening in Redfern Waterloo.
Ninety per cent of young people in juvenile justice centres have at least one psychological disorder and 40 per cent have been in out-of-home care. On average they left school under the age of 15. Perhaps most concerning of all is that about half the young people in juvenile justice custody are Aboriginal, despite only making up about four per cent of the population. Changes to the State's juvenile justice system will require political will and community support. Your contribution matters.
To finish off the year Groundswell have organised a special free workshop targeting local NGO‘s, community groups and community leaders to explore the topic of leadership during times of urban renewal.

After a successful first season as part of Performance Spaces WALK series in April 2011, The Waterloo Girls is returning for two nights only as part of the NSW Reconciliation Council 'Our Place' series. The Waterloo Girls is a traverse through the lives and places of four generations of women who live in Waterloo. The women engaged in this project have all at some stage in their lives, attended the Waterloo Women and Girls Centre.

A group of Pitt Street Redfern Residents who formed "The Redfern Society" are concerned about the development proposed for 52-54 Pitt Street and are holding a site meeting on Monday 5 December before a Land and Environment Court hearing on 6th December 2011. Do you want to talk to people about problem behaviour in your area? This meeting is for people with an interest in problem behaviour in the area and are interested in collecting information about this issue. Thew organisers are trying to collect information from the community about their experience of problem behaviour in Redfern and Waterloo. We are doing this to try and get a change in the way problem behaviour is being handled by Housing NSW and others in the community.
