We hear a lot about what people who own their own houses can do to help mitigate the impact of climate change. If you do not control the place you live, then solar panels and making buildings more adaptable are not options. What can a renter or someone in social / public housing to do? How do we tackle our response to climate change so it does not increase inequality in our society? We have asked a few people with expertise in this topic to come along and lead a round table on this topic. Join us on Thursday 6pm February 6 at the Factory Community Centre, 67 Raglan Street, Waterloo.

With Council releasing a site plan for Waterloo and Council’s planning proposal for the Redfern Build-to-Rent (this is the site containing the PCYC site) being finalised by Council tonight, it is possible to have a wider discussion about these LAHC and Council plans.
A ceremony granting refugees and Australian citizens Aboriginal passports will take place at Redfern Community Centre from 11am on Saturday August 11. A ceremony and food will feature. Refugees will receive the passports for free. Others who want a passport will need to bring a passport photo and pay a $10 fee.
