SDN Children's Services and Connect Redfern have organised for Parentshop to provide free training for community workers. To help manage aged children 2-12. Registration closes 9th April
Join Aboriginal women making a stand against domestic violence and sexual assault at the Aboriginal Women’s Corroboree at Alexandria Town Hall, 73 Garden St, Alexandria. There will be song and dance from Aboriginal women and children, an Elders tent, stalls, a free sausage sizzle and also speeches from various women.

Holy Cow is nine times winner of the Dutch Magic Championship, who bring their cocktail of comedy, magic, theatre and Cabaret, to Sydney for the first Time. PEEPSHOW: Chippendale... behind closed doors will commence at 1pm with the official opening of Sydney's new multidisciplinary arts space - FraserStudios, before five different tours set off to explore the suburb of Chippendale on the hour... every hour til 6pm. On these tours, audiences will be taken to locations across Chippendale where they will be encouraged to experience the creative industries and people that make this eclectic suburb truly unique. Tours depart from 10–14 Kensington St, Chippendale. Each tour consists of around four different locations with a maximum of 20 people per tour – no pre-bookings... It’s strictly first in!

Redfern Police and City of Sydney Council are organising a series of Good Neighbour BBQs. The events aim to give people the opportunity to meet their neighbours, Police and Council staff, enjoy a free BBQ and a show put on by Erth Dinosaur Petting Zoo, children's activities and information about what's happening in local neighbourhoods, including safety and security initiatives.
Come along and meet your neighbours and learn about what we are doing to improve your neighbourhood. The City of Sydney and Police are hosting a series of Good Neighbourhood BBQs in your area.
REDWatch meets on the first Thursday of the month
Groundswell has decided to run some public screenings of “Saving Erko Estate” followed by discussions. These are designed to get people thinking about the plans to redevelop Redfern and Waterloo public housing and how they might respond. In the video tenants tell their stories about why they fought and how they saved their homes from a Housing NSW Redevelopment similar to that planned for Redfern and Waterloo.

He has written two books: ‘REMEMBER WHEN—HOW TO UNLOCK LIFE STORIES ‘and ‘OPEN HEARTS -HIDDEN LIVES’. Stories help provide a greater understanding of humanity and the wide spectrum of traditions and cultures around the world. John believes there is no such thing as an ordinary person. We all have something unique to share, and invites you to tell your story of life experiences in the Elders project. He empathises with people, honouring and respecting what they share, and looks forward to listening and documenting your stories. He has travelled widely in Australia, UK USA, Singapore and Thailand working with communities and accessing their stories

WHEN millions of African slaves were shipped to South America in the 1400s, they took one thing with them rhythm. Uruguayan band Candombe Yaugura use drums and piano to recreate the beat. The 35-piece band will perform at the CarriageWorks in Eveleigh as part of the Elevate the Music Festival next week.Elevate the Music organiser Jacklin Matti said Candombe Yaugura should be commended for their charity work as well as their energy on stage."They raise money for hospitals and things in Uruguay.
